Hank Kuhnhauser 1944 -2006

Hank was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Queens, New York to Henry and Bertha (Hanzel) Kuhnhauser. He lived there with his sister and parents until he was 17 years old when he joined the United States Air Force. He met Audry, whom he affectionately called Audie, while he was stationed here at Ellsworth AFB. They were married Jan. 14, 1965, in El Paso, TX. Together they had two daughters; Kim and Karla

Hazel B. Smith

Hazel B. Smith, 93, was born in a sod house on Burns Creek, MT, February 26, 1913 to Bern H. Storm and Grace (Conger) Storm. 
At the age of 23, Hazel went to Flathead Lake, MT to be a housekeeper to a doctors family. In 1940, Hazel came to the Black Hills to be a guide in the Original Crystal Cave (Bethlehem Cave) that was owned by her uncle. She met Homer Smith there and became engaged.
They were married in Las Vegas in 1941 and traveled by train to California where they resided. They built their own home there.

Francis Peterson July 25, 1919 - March 13, 2005

Francis Charles Peterson of Belle Fourche, S.D. went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 13, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. Francis was born on July 25, 1919, in Clear Lake, S.D. where he grew up. He moved to Gary, S.D. in 1959; Terraville, S.D. in 1961; Nevada Gulch, S.D. in 1967; and Belle Fourche in 1987. He recently moved to Littlefork, Minn. On April 11, 1945, Francis married the former Dorothy Ruben in Goodwin, S.D. He worked for U.S. West until his retirement. Francis enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and goat farming. His hobby farm became a tourist attraction when he began decorating the goats' horns with flowers. He loved to ride in parades on the cart he built and trained his goats to pull. Francis is preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. Peterson and Emma (Rathke) Peterson, and his sister, Sophie Rabine. Francis is survived by his wife Dorothy Peterson, three sons and two daughters: Selmer (Colleen) Peterson of Owatonna, Minn; Delmer (Joyce) Peterson of Littlefork, Minn.; Drusilla (Chip) Dye of Alzada, Mont.; Ronnie (Rhonda) Peterson, Captain U.S.A.F, Retired, of Black Hawk, S.D.; and Sharie (Gerald) Krebsbach of Jacksonville, Fla.; as well as 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Francis is planned for Wednesday March 16, 2005, at the Littlefork Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the Littlefork Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Interment at Oakley Cemetery in Littlefork, Minnesota

Ivan and Gertrude Rosedahl 1913 - 2004

Ivan was born January 25, 1913, in Dassel, MN to Arvid and Marie (Nelson) Rosdahl. The family moved to rural Stockholm, SD when he was 9 years old. After his marriage to Gertrude Korsberg on September 24, 1936, they moved into the town of Stockholm and then in 1947 they moved to Rapid City. For over 20 years he was an over-the-road driver for United Buckingham Transportation Co. After his retirement, he drove school and tour buses.

Voreta "Vicky" Reinhold

Vicky was born on December 10, 1934 to Walter and Nora (Hughes) Bangert, in Avon, SD. She attended Avon High School and one year of college at Bob Jones University of Greenville, SC. Vicky located to the Rapid City area with her family in 1955. She met the love of her life, Marvin Tige Reinhold and they were united in marriage on February 14, 1956. She never dreamed she would marry a rancher, but when Tige showed up on her doorstep looking for a piano player to assist him with youth meetings at Big Bend

Paul Reinhold

Died peacefully September 1, 2003. Preceded in death by parents; 3 brothers, Carl, James & Earl; 2 sisters, Ila & Rosa. Survived by wife Nina Mae; children, Kathryn Reinhold, Shelly (Jeffrey) Krause, LaDonna (Stephen) Larson, Cheryl (James) Roberts, Dennis (Nancy), Gary Reinhold, Randal (Cindy), & Jason Reinhold; 16 grandchildren; 1 brother, Marvin (Vorita) Reinhold; 2 sisters, Dorothy (John) Gapp & Ruth (Robert) Humke. Worked for American Bakeries for 22 years

Bush and Blanche Lockhart

Marvin "Bush" Lockhart, 87, Hot Springs, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs.

Blanche Lockhart, 88, Hot Springs, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at her home.

Survivors include three children, Dale Lockhart and Keith Lockhart, both of Hot Springs, and Doris Merrill, Pine Ridge; one sister, Lola Oestereick, Fort Morgan, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Roxene Joneson 1957 - 2001

Roxene Joneson was born 12-11-57 in Huron, S.D., to Don and Ruth Thaden of Bancroft, S.D. She was raised on the family farm north of Bancroft. Her family moved to DeSmet in 1972. She was active throughout the community: a church pianist, tour guide for the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant Association, high school band member, and baton twirler. She participated in many competitions in performing arts, and the character traits developed there flowed through the rest of her life.
