It is truly inspiring to see you all serving the Lord the way you all do. It was refreshing to meet other men (at Men's Day) in the ranch and farming profession that know their need for God's grace and wish to serve HIm back. Thank you for hosting the event and taking the time to graciously and generously serve us.

I was needing encouragement and I found it at (your) place! God had to be working because the speaker's topics directly addressed what I was struggling with. It has further strengthened my belief that God works in great ways through His servants...skilled or unskilled, gifted or not) that show up to the "fight", and you all showed up.
Thank you! God Bless.

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of Winter Storm Atlas. I'll always just refer to it as "the blizzard" and to some extent, the timeline of my life exists before and after the blizzard. Those weeks and months changed me, defined me, shaped me in a way thats hard to explain, and still hard to talk about.

My first thoughts of the blizzard go to the utter devastation, and hopelessness, and helplessness that so many of us felt in those many moments after the storm cleared. And then the overwhelming, constant work that came next.

Just days before the blizzard, Larry Reinhold shared a message at the Stockgrowers convention about trust. I had no idea how much that message would become my guidepost in the year to follow. To trust that it would all be ok in the end. To trust that yes, I could do the work that was before me, and to trust that there was a bigger purpose to be revealed.
Now, mostly, I want to remember the good. The neighbors who helped one another without asking and without telling. The volunteers who worked tirelessly, the donations of cash, and heifers, and Christmas baskets, and boots, and bibles, and so many more gifts, gestures and actions that will likely never be told but will live on in the hearts and smiles of families across our region.

The abrupt change in weather these last days, has been eerily reminiscent of the way that the beautiful fall of 2013 turned deadly. I know a lot of families have been feeling the anxiety and stress of remembering the blizzard. I feel it too. But, I trust.

This was my daughter's first year of being at camp for a whole week. I was probably more nervous than she was, she was so excited to go! I am just so, so thankful we have found a place to send our kids that puts so much focus on personal quiet time with God as part of the morning routine. Camp is not full of hype and an intensity that doesn't sustain, but rather consistent, real, and down to earth biblical teaching that seeps into the soul like a slow rain. For this, I am so thankful.
This picture was taken of my daughter one morning as she was having her morning "QT" time reading through scriptures and the devotional in her growth guide. It really tells the story of what Rainbow Bible Ranch is about. After listening to her and her brother download their week, I am assured yet again that all the effort that they and we go to, to get them to camp is well worth it. Thank you to Larry Robin Reinhold and the entire crew at RBR for all you do. You are all very much appreciated.

FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP
God is doing many great things around this world, and one of those great ministries is close to my heart. Please allow me to share some info with you about this opportunity.

By the time I could walk, I loved horses. Even to this day I agree that the "outside of a horse, is good for the inside of a person." If you have a young person who is interested in horses, please consider sending them to Rainbow Bible Ranch located near Sturgis, South Dakota.

Larry and Robbin Reinhold have managed this Bible Camp for years and are tremendous at showing young people what it is like to live on a real working ranch. The campers get lots of time with the horses, and an amazing adventure into the Bible.

Larry and Robbin have done such a great job in raising good young adults, that I would full heartedly recommend that you allow them to influence your child, grandchild or that kid at church or within you community. Robbin's two older daughters sure make me wish I had another son at home - they are both amazing young ladies. The best part is that they are members of the staff who will be working with your youngster.

Children from 6 to 18 years of age are strongly encouraged to wisely invest a few days of your summer by attending one of these awesome camps. You will always be with campers your own age as you share one of the greatest adventures of your life!

I know, you have sports camps to attend - well here is my two cents: sports camps will help you play a sport that will soon fade into the sunset, a week at Rainbow Bible Ranch will give you tools that you will use the rest of your life. Be smart, do that which changes your heart!

If you don't have any children at home but would like to contribute to a ministry that leaves a life-impacting impression upon their campers, send a financial gift to these folks. Your gift will be dollars invested into eternity!

You can go to rainbowbibleranch.org for more information, or call 605-923-6056.

An investment into today's youth is an investment into tomorrow's leaders. Thanks for considering being a part of this great ministry.

One of the best things my parents ever did for me as a kid was send me to Rainbow Bible Ranch! It was there, at the age of 9 when I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Although I didn't walk with Him for the following 10 years, the time I had at camp laid a foundation for me for the years to come. <3

Building long-time friendships, learning God's word, and getting the opportunity for a "city kid" to learn about hard work and grit are just some of the things I'm so thankful for. Not to mention being around the Larry Robin Reinhold family who are incredible, faithful people who showed me a great example of God's picture of family and togetherness!

23 years later I sing some of the songs I remember from camp to my sweet Stella. I wish she could stay my baby forever, but I get excited to see what God will do for her heart when she attends camp in a few years!

Camps do cost money, but I know THIS camp is an investment that can have an incredible return! Spots do fill up, so if it doesn't work this year to send your kiddos, start planning and saving for next year!

Our church youth group had some hayrides out at the Reinhold ranch, twenty miles north of town. We used to count three and a half horizons as we bounced up the graveled road on our way to the Lone Tree Ranch. The drivers topped the hills at fifty miles per hour in the middle of these narrow roads because no one was ever coming. We took that and many other things on faith in those days.

When we got to the ranch, Tige Reinhold was waiting with a tractor hitched to the hay wagon and we piled out of the cars and onto the wagon. Tige was almost as big as the cattle he raised. Things got rowdy as we rolled over the dark prairie. I fell off the hay wagon a few times. Actually, we pushed each other off many times. We would run alongside the wagon and hop back up into the soft, scratchy hay.

Maybe I was getting a little tired, but once I just stayed on the ground and watched the hay wagon roll away. No one noticed my absence. When I was ready, I started to walk toward the wagon, but the full harvest moon was starting to light the South Dakota prairie. The beauty of the scene stopped me in my tracks. As I gazed at the moon and struggled in the dark without a trail, I had the strong thought that my life would involve many struggles, but if I followed the light I would get where I needed to go. I felt like God was talking to me while I was alone at night on the prairie. I know it doesn’t sound like much when I tell it years later, but it felt big at the time, and I remember it vividly to this day. I followed the moon, and returned in time to the hayride. No one was worried about me, and I spoke to no one about my experience.

WHAT DOES RBR MEAN TO YOU AS A FORMER STAFF MEMBER?

"Come away, find out Who I AM, and know My voice." Rainbow Bible Ranch: a place of distance from the world, a time where time seemed to stop and eternity began. A "bar" that was raised very high, but attainable.
Personal testimony:
I grew up in a pastor's home. I knew ALL about doing. Serving as a teachers helper at the age of 7, leading youth when I was a youth, working with the elderly, leading hymns during songs service, the list was endless.
I needed to learn about "Being" in Christ. I learned this being a camper. But the biggest lesson came the summer I was kitchen staff. The Lord taught me a hard lesson and I haven't forgotten it. I certainly wanted to be "doing" the role of camp counselor. That certainly looked liked a more noteworthy position than kitchen staff. I thought for sure I was equipped, I knew ALL about ministry or so I thought. They didn't need kitchen staff, I NEEDED to "be" kitchen staff. I needed to come away from it all, so as to fall in love with my Savior. And fall in love, I DID! He became everything to me. I didn't serve because it made me look good but because my love for Him flowed over. Yes, the very early mornings, sometimes ungrateful mouths, and flopped meals from a 15 year old. These taught me that leadership means "being" in Christ which is serving in humility. I really don't think I would be where I am today if I hadn't learned that. I am so grateful to Larry and Robin who listened to the Lord as they placed me in that perfect place, aka "kitchen staff."

My kids were able to go for the first time this year, and they both came home planning for next year's camp!
They learned so much about themselves, God and the surrounding community that we live in. Confidences were boosted, self-pride was minimized, new friendships were made and new respects for our ranch neighbors were recognized.
This is such a wonderful experience, both for the kids and the adults who get to live it thru their stories at the end of camp.
