Grace Margaret Kephart Reinhold, 91, passed away on Sat., June 20, 2015 at Custer Regional Senior Care.
Grace Margaret Kephart Reinhold was born November 20, 1923 in Clear Lake, SD to Milton Kephart Jr. and Ada Belle Leonard Kephart. Grace grew up with seven brothers, Gaius, Alfred, True, Jason, Elihu, Rodney and Richard, and one sister Gertrude, which all preceded her in death. When Grace was eight years old she accepted the Lord. When Grace was young she remembers when they got up on Christmas her mom would always make them eat an orange before they could have any candy. She graduated from high school in Strandburg, SD in 1942. Grace lived all of her life in South Dakota except for one year when she lived in California.
On March 25, 1945 Grace married Carl R. “Dick” Reinhold in Inglewood, CA. Grace and Dick enjoyed looking for Fairburn Agates. They would polish the agates and make them into jewelry.
While Grace was in California she worked in a defense plant. Grace worked as a switchboard operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Rapid City. She then went to work for J.C. Penney where she worked for 30 years until her retirement in 1988.
Grace belonged to several clubs and organizations over her many years including the Rapid City Garden Club where she was the president for two years, and The Violet Club where she was president for one year. Grace enjoyed gardening and flowers, embroidery work, and crocheting.
Grace was a member of the Evangelical Free Church then later in life attended the Wesleyan Church in Rapid City.
Grace lived the last 7 ½ years at Custer Regional Senior Care, where she loved making quilts, putting together puzzles, and was active in all social events.
