Paula was born May 24, 1973, in Deadwood, SD, to Don and Aneita (Remington) Henry. She spent her first 8 years in Sturgis before moving with the family to Vale. After 4 years there, the family moved to Kingman, AZ.
Paula loved to play volleyball at Manzanita Christian School. In her junior and senior years, she taught kindergarten in the mornings for her mom who ran the Christian school. Paula completed her studies and graduated in 1990, one year early, and also as valedictorian of her class.
Paula worked various jobs at truck stops in and around Kingman. In March of 1992, her son, Timothy Curtis, was born, 8 weeks premature. The next month was spent traveling back and forth to Phoenix until she brought him home at 4 lbs., 5 oz. at 1 month old.
In 1994, the family all migrated back to SD. Paula worked several years as a lunch lady in the Belle Fourche school system. She loved this job because of her passion for children, especially at the elementary school. She also housed delinquent teens when Timmy was in school never shutting the door or fridge to them whether she could afford it or not. Her biggest passion was reading. She always had at least one or two books with her that she was reading. Paula was currently working at Judy’s Place, an assisted living facility, in Belle Fourche. She loved working with the residents there.
Paula is survived by her son, Timothy Wheeler, Belle Fourche; her parents, Don and Aneita Henry, Stoneville, SD; her sister, Donna (Bob) Milburn, and their daughters, Amethyst, Emerald & Merijayne, all of Enning, SD; her grandfather, Cecil Remington, Union Center; grandparents, Calvin and Lanora Henry, Mesquite, NV; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to list.
Paula was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Helen Henry and LaVonne Remington.
A memorial has been established to Rainbow Bible Ranch.
