Rainbow Ranch Olympics You will remember today. You will remember how you lost your voice while yelling and encouraging. You will remember how your team prayed for Strength, and Endurance. And that you would give all the Glory to God. You will remember how your arms grew numb from fighting in Tug-of-War. How you pushed yourself and your teammates to go ONE STEP FARTHER THAN YOU EVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE!!!!
DECEMBER 23, 2013
This year-end letter is written after a season of challenge. I had hoped that my first letter after camp would be primarily updating you of the joys of the wonderful summer of ministry. For that is certainly what took place. Our theme of "Just Trust" proved to be very timely and affirming. In a world of uncertainty, I thoroughly enjoyed reminding numerous children and teens, along with their families from 19 states, of the blessings of "letting go and letting God". And equally exciting was the response of many kids as they realized that in order to be able to benefit from trusting the Almighty...
STORMS ARE CERTAIN... AND BLESSINGS ARE AS WELL
October brought a storm… November brought the family, loss of a dear friend. However, one would be remiss to ignore the blessings that God has bestowed by friends, old and new. We saw so many “step up to the plate” in so many diverse ways.
The "Rebuilding of the Remuda" has begun. Rainbow Bible Ranch is not setting out to replace our great horses that we lost in the storm, Atlas, however we must rebuild. We had our first acquisition today. Thank you Tyler and Jeanne for bringing Red down with you from Bozeman, MT. Our wranglers like him. And what a great day as we were privileged to make not only acquaintance, but friendship. We look forward to fellowship again in the near future.
Kiersten and Julia stand with a beautiful heifer that a family from eastern South Dakota gave to the family after the devastating losses caused by Atlas and the other day we received two great cows from a dear family near Bozeman, MT. Certainly puts a smile on one's face.
We truly enjoyed our time with Sybil and Anna of the British Broadcasting (BBC). One might even say that the day was "lovely".
Anna and Sybil do a program for the BBC called "ON YOUR FARM". They featured our family on two different programs. We highly regard the privilege of getting to know these ladies.
Nearly a tradition is the visit of dear friends, Donny Tribby and Mary Tribby Stewart and their great kids. Don and Mary represent so well what friendship is all about.
THANK YOU LYDIA
The storm, Atlas, of October 2013 was devastating in many ways... But the encouragement has also been evident. "Sense of community" is spreading beyond the border of the of the affected area. We are going to share some of the uplifting messages with you. The first is one from a little girl that we have not met, yet, from Ohio. Included in the box were some special "toys" and 54 cents. Thank you Lydia...you made our day.
REBUILDING RAINBOW'S REMUDA
A ranch remuda is defined as "the herd of horses from which those to be used for the day are chosen." The devastating blizzard of 2013 wreaked havoc across western south dakota; rainbow bible ranch and the lonetree were not spared. On October 4, 2013, a wild and ferocious storm settled in upon western South Dakota, leaving behind it devastation that will be felt for many years to come.
Thursday Evening
I love closing out the Talent Show, generally held every Thursday evening at Rainbow Bible Ranch. It always follows our wonderful Banquet of homecooked food. Last summer, Michael Joneson emceed the program and I would do the wrap. What a golden opportunity to share with the kids their need for Jesus. This is the evening that most decisions are made. So if you think of RBR this summer on Thursday evening...start praying, because God will be moving.

Arbor Day vs. Earth Day
At Rainbow Bible Rach we strive to teach biblical stewardship. Here we have Molly planting apple trees near the playground.
Genesis 1 in the Bible states that humans are to have dominion and take care of His creation.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Be cautious of the modern Earth Day message. Let us not shirk our mandate from God the Creator concerning all of creation.
APRIL 16, 2013... WE ARE SINCERELY SADDENED BUT SHOUD NOT BE SURPRISED BY THE BOSTON BOMBING
By Larry B. Reinhold We are sincerely saddened, but should not be surprised by the Boston bombings. For years there have been those that are determined to destroy the freedom that America was founded upon. One must note that the marathon is held on a state holiday in Massachusetts. The holiday is Patriot’s Day. It’s a celebration in observance of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. The "shot that was heard around the world" was fired not far from the finish line. This year’s Boston Marathon field of 27,000 runners included participants from all 50 states of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The early patriot, Patrick Henry, stated "They tell us Sir, that we are weak -- unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature has placed in our power." Samuel Adams in a letter to James Warren written on April 16, 1776 said, "Our unalterable resolution would be to be free. They have attempted to subdue us by force, but God be praised, in vain! Their arts may be more dangerous than their arms. Let us then renounce all treaty with them upon any score but that of total separation, and under God trust our cause to our swords. Let us take our stand, first upon our knees in humility before God, and then as He leads, let us be vigilant in rooting out anything that threatens the freedom of this great country. Let us uphold diligently the standard that has been set forth by our constitution and biblical truth. And may the blast that happened in Boston be as the "shot heard around the world". May no life lost or injury sustained be in vain as we press on toward "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". As the Minutemen of old gathered together to fight tyranny, so let us as Americans join together to take on this evil. We must be concerned about the those within our borders and those beyond our borders that would seek to waste America to ruins. Let us seek the wisdom and strength of the Almighty God, for without godly principle, we too, can be drawn into the cesspool of selfishness and wrongdoings. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reads, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
