ALBERT "FUZZ" MARTIN AUGUST 1928 - DECEMBER 2017

Albert Oscar Martin, better known as “Fuzz” by his family and friends, was born August 10, 1928, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Henry and Dena (Bertelson) Martin. He grew up on his parents’ ranch north of Midland and received his education in a rural elementary school, as well as attending high school in Midland.

Albert was a member of the Open Bible Church of Midland. He served, as a corporal, in the U.S. Army from 1951 until June of 1953. After which he was honorably discharged, he served the following six years in the Army Reserves.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Foster on November 1, 1953, in Custer, South Dakota. To this union were born nine sons and three daughters.

Fuzz bought his Dad’s ranch north of Midland and lived there for two years. He then purchased a ranch near Ottumwa, South Dakota, and years later, sold the property. He found and purchased a ranch 30 miles south of Faith, which he later sold to his youngest son, Billy and wife, Katie. Fuzz was a highly respected, much loved, Christian man. His gentle, kind, and caring spirit was received by everyone he came in contact with. His quick wit and sense of humor brought an instant laugh to all. He loved his family deeply and his neighbor and friends. Fuzz’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the pride of his life.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Spearfish; eleven children: Jeanie (Boyd) Waara of Philip; Michael (Peg) Martin of North Pole, Alaska; Henry (Terri) Martin of Sundance, Wyoming; Rodney Martin of Harrold; Randy (Peggy) Martin of Philip; Jill (Jack) Evans of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kelly (Denise) Martin of Sundance, Wyoming; Jay (Julie) Martin of Belle Fourche; Jess (Angela) Martin of Dupree; Jennifer (Jon) Jones of Midland; and Billy (Katie) Martin of Faith; one brother-in-law, Shorty Woitte of Midland; one daughter-in-law, Susie Martin; and a host of other relatives and friends
