PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD
As happens regularly for me, I wake up during the night or early in the morning with a start. Often times I am struck with a thought provoking statement racing through my mind. This morning was in line with that. "Prepare you the way of the Lord." I thought of John, Jesus cousin and son of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Most of us will conjure up a picture of this wild man wearing camel hides and feasting upon locusts and honey. As a prophet and a preacher, he was relentless in his message. He knew his task was to prepare people for the coming Messiah. I believe that to personally accept that challenge given to John would not be off-track. Certainly, I am not referring to the first coming of Christ, but rather recognizing the return of Christ is drawing ever so close. May we be found faithful with our light burning bright as a beacon to all. I continue to be amazed by the many who have joined with our family and staff through the outreach of Rainbow Bible Ranch. It is exciting to be part of a team that desires to share the "way of the Lord". In Philippians 3:8-9, Paul wrote, "But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ ... " Paul and John were committed to the very end. I want to be as well. We are excited about upcoming activities. This Saturday is our Annual Steak-N-Cake. Open to all ... we encourage fellowship that goes beyond "talking about the weather". Then in a few weeks we will be hosting our Fellowship Room during the Black Hills Stock Show. We are planning a meeting each evening at 5:00. Please keep this time in prayer as over 300,000 people attend this exciting agricultural event and rodeo. On February 1, we have joined together with several other families to conduct the Stock Show Reunion Fellowship at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn. We have confirmed that Jim and Joni Hunt will be sharing with us at our Valentine Banquet. What a great night to look forward to, and dont forget our Hunters Harvest Buffet in March. This is worth getting in your outfit and driving a distance to be a part of. And dont forget to pray about the upcoming summer camp season. Hey, let us keep pressing on! Larry B.
